1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everyone who uses kott, and especially to content and conduct that touches other people — presets you publish to the gallery, content you expose through share links, public profiles, comments, reports, and team activity. It is part of, and incorporated into, our Terms of Service. Breaking this AUP can lead to content removal, and account suspension or termination (Section 5).
2. Prohibited content
You must not create, upload, publish, share or link to content that:
Is child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or sexualizes minors — zero tolerance. We prohibit any content that sexually exploits or endangers children, in any form, including AI-generated or stylized depictions. We remove it immediately, terminate the responsible Account, preserve relevant data, and report it to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or other competent authorities as required by law. Is otherwise illegal or promotes illegal activity, or violates the rights of others.
Infringes intellectual property — copyright, trademark, or other rights — including using images, video, fonts or audio you do not have the rights to. Copyright complaints are handled under our Copyright / DMCA Policy.
Is non-consensual intimate imagery or invades privacy — including “deepfake” sexual imagery of a real person, or publishing someone’s private information (doxxing).
Harasses, threatens, defames, or incites hatred or violence against people or groups, including on the basis of protected characteristics.
Contains malware or hostile code — viruses, or anything designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
Is spam or deceptive — bulk unsolicited promotion, scams, phishing, or content that impersonates others or misrepresents its source.
Is sexually explicit content presented where it is not permitted, or is otherwise inappropriate for the gallery’s general audience. [PLACEHOLDER — set the gallery’s content-maturity rules.]
3. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or breach its security or authentication; access data or accounts that are not yours; abuse share links or attempt to enumerate or guess them; circumvent usage limits, entitlements, or the export watermark; scrape or place unreasonable load on the Service; use bots or automation except as we expressly allow; resell or sublicense the Service itself; or misuse reporting/moderation tools (for example, filing false reports).
4. Live performance, projection & photosensitivity (VJ output)
kott can produce fast-moving, flashing, strobing and high-contrast visuals, including through projector / second-screen output intended for live performance and VJ sets. Flashing and strobing imagery can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy and can cause discomfort or injury.
Your responsibility as the operator. If you display kott output to an audience — at a venue, event, stream or installation — you are the presenter and are responsible for the safety of your output and your audience. You must: comply with all applicable venue rules, event regulations and local laws; provide adequate photosensitivity / strobe warnings where required or appropriate; and moderate the intensity and flash rate of your visuals for the setting and audience. kott provides tools, not a fitness-for-a-particular- performance guarantee, and we disclaim liability for how you deploy the output to the fullest extent permitted by law (see Terms §§13–14).
5. Reporting & enforcement
Reporting. You can report content or conduct that violates this AUP using the in-product report tools or by emailing [ABUSE EMAIL]. For copyright, use the DMCA process. For suspected CSAM, use [CSAM REPORT CHANNEL] — we treat these reports as urgent.
Enforcement ladder. Depending on the severity and history of a violation, we may: (1) issue a warning; (2) remove or restrict the offending content or make it private; (3) limit features (for example, publishing or sharing); (4) suspend the Account; or (5) terminate the Account. Serious violations — such as CSAM, credible threats, or security attacks — can result in immediate termination without prior warning and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement. We operate a repeat-infringer policy for intellectual-property violations (see the DMCA Policy).
Notice & appeal. Where required by law (including the EU Digital Services Act), we will give affected users a statement of reasons for a moderation decision and information on how to appeal. Contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] to appeal a decision you believe was made in error.
