Warp effects move pixels somewhere other than where they were found. Nothing is added here. Nothing is taken. The picture is only asked to be somewhere else, and it goes, and it stops being the same picture.
02/ SPEC
Warp effects remap coordinates rather than changing colour: every output pixel is sampled from a different place in the source, so the palette survives intact while geometry does not. kott's warp family covers radial projections like fisheye, mirrors and kaleidoscopes, ripples and twirls, liquid and glass displacement, and slit scanning. Reach for this category to imitate an optical system, to make a static image feel unstable, or to build a pattern out of a photograph's own contents. Because the remap magnifies some regions and compresses others, always start from the highest resolution source you have: enlarged areas cannot invent detail the original never held.
